About Dr. Rajiv Parakh
Dr. Rajiv Parakh is one of India's foremost vascular surgeons, with over four decades of hands-on experience in vascular and endovascular surgery.
He currently serves as Chairman of Vascular Surgery at Medanta - The Medicity, Gurgaon.
Dr. Parakh has played a pioneering role in developing vascular surgery as a specialty in India.
He completed his MBBS and MS from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi, followed by an FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons, UK.
He is globally recognized for his work in arterial bypass surgery, carotid artery stenting, and laser treatment of varicose veins.
He is also highly skilled in peripheral artery interventions and complex vascular reconstructions.
Dr. Parakh initiated India’s first government-recognised vascular surgery training program.
He is a founding member of both the Vascular Society of India and the Endovascular Intervention Society of India.
He has served as Vice President of the International Society for Vascular Surgery (USA) in 2010.
His accolades include the Prof. Hari Vaishnava Oration (2008) and the Sushil Malik Oration (2009), recognizing his contributions to the field.
In addition to Medanta, he has held leadership roles at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (New Delhi) and Gleneagles Global Hospital (Chennai).
